Who We Are
Started in 1984 with 12 charter members, now with a membership of over 50 individuals dedicated to the sport of catamaran sailboat racing. Experience levels from true beginner, with no sailing or racing experience, who are learning through active participation, to veterans of several national and international competitions and championship events. Ages range from pre-teen on up. On any given Tuesday, an average of 15-20 boats are on the water competing. You can also check out our Facebook page.

When
Racing starting sequence begins at 6:30 PM, beginning the first Tuesday in May (May 7, 2013) for 8 weeks in the Spring Series. The Summer Series begins July 9, 2010 (with no races the week of July 2nd) and runs for 10 weeks, ending on September 10th, 2010).

Austin Lake, Portage, Michigan (5 miles south of I-94 and Kalamazoo). See maps below.
Why
To promote the sport of catamaran racing, and camraderie and fun that's a part of the sport.

Take I-94 Exit 78 (Portage Road) South 5 miles or US-131 Exit 30 (Centre Street) East 4.5 miles to Portage Road. |
South on Portage Road (1.5 Miles South of Centre Street), to Woodbine Ave. |
Turn (East) onto Woodbine Ave. and follow .5 miles to the end, where you turn left into the Austin Lake Public Access. NOTE: Boat Access fee of $6 will be charged if the DNR "toll booth" is manned (most weekends and holidays). For a GPS waypoint, enter: N 42º 10.769' W 085º 33.382' |
